According to the statement made by the Ombudsman Institution (KDK), the health technician working in the emergency x-ray unit of the university hospital applied to the institution, stating that he did not benefit from the additional payment, although he served the emergency room during the fight against the epidemic.
The OIK, which contacted the administration, was replied that the name of the applicant was not in the emergency employee list and therefore no additional payment was made.
After proving that the health technician was actually working in the fight against the epidemic, although his name was not on the emergency list, the OIK made a recommendation for the administration.
Healthcare professionals’ right to free public transport has been extended
In the decision, it was stated that the non-payment of additional payment to the applicant, who was found to be working in the fight against the epidemic, due to his lack of a name in the employee list “was not in accordance with Article 55 of the Constitution and in fairness”.
In the recommendation, it was also underlined that the lack of additional payment to the employee in this situation was incompatible with the motivation and encouragement of the healthcare professionals who were physically and psychologically worn during the epidemic.
